Create guideposts for your perfect eden
one card at a time
OBJECTIVE:
Craft a powerful mission statement to define the goals and visions for your chosen VALUES and ELEMENTS to guide the process of designing & transforming an outdoor space into your perfect Eden.
This activity is outlined on INSTRUCTION CARD #11 of The Design Your Eden Card Deck
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ENVISION: Close your eyes and imagine the space you are about to transform or the blank canvas you are starting with. What does it look like? Feel like? Sound like?
2. SELECT YOUR GUIDEPOSTS: Browse through the ELEMENTS & VALUES from each of your WANT & HAVE stacks (Reference: ACTIVITY #1 ELEMENTAL FOUNDATIONS & Activity #2: VALUES & VISION) and draw out the cards that best resonate with the vision that emerged from your daydream. These are the seeds of your personal Eden.
3. EXPAND WHAT'S POSSIBLE: Introduce the CONNECTOR cards and arrange all of the cards into meaningful sentences, much like refrigerator magnet poetry. You can also use the "Create-Your-Own" ELEMENT, VALUE, or CONNECTOR Cards or to help find deeper inspiration.
4. CRAFT YOUR MANIFESTO: Experiment with several different arrangements until you find a statement(s) that aligns with your vision. Use this mission statement to guide your process of designing your own personal Eden.
